   Jenny (Careers Lead)

I am the Careers and Employability coordinator at the Academy and have been involved in teaching careers-based learning for most of my 28-year career. I am dedicated to making sure that our students get the best careers education, advice and guidance and are empowered to make the right choices for them on leaving the Academy. We encourage them to look at a wide range of potential careers, with a focus on developing the skills needed for occupations that may not even exist yet!  In addition, we provide information on local job availability to enable students to ensure they are prepared for the changing job market and gig economy. I feel this is particularly important in these uncertain times. I welcome anyone to contact me jsaunders@nottinghamgirlsacademy.org who feels they can enhance the excellent support we are already giving, whether that be parents and carers, alumni or employers.

   Michele (DANCOP Careers Administrator)

I have over 30 years’ experience of working within careers and I am a qualified Careers Advisor, previously working within further and higher education, also working with learners in schools and academies. I provide impartial information, advice and guidance regarding careers, further/higher education, funding, student finance and apprenticeships, ensuring all students are aware of the opportunities available to them to enable them to progress into their chosen career pathway.

Kyla (DANCOP Careers and Aspirations Mentor)

I’m quite new to careers, coming from a background in counselling and therapy, but I am working from a place of real passion. As a first-generation student, and a Greenwood Academies Trust alumnus, social mobility is something that’s very personal to me and a huge priority. I provide impartial information and guidance to pupils to ensure they pursue careers that they are passionate about and well equipped for. This includes ensuring that pupils are aware of all the support and different routes they have access to, to feel fulfilled and achieve greatness in their professional lives. I achieve this through a combination of one on one appointments, group work interventions and presentations, amongst other things.
