Is school reopening?
Updated 31 May 2020
On Sunday 10 May, the government announced their conditional road map for ending lockdown.
When will secondary pupils go back to school?
We have been asked to provide face-to-face time for Year 10 and Year 12 pupils from the week beginning 15 June 2020.
We have NOT been asked to plan for pupils in any other year groups to return (apart from any that need to attend our Key Worker and Vulnerable Children provision).
We will continue to provide online learning for all of our pupils.
Will this be a return to normal lessons?
This WILL NOT be a return to normal full-time education for pupils in Year 10 and Year 12.
We have been asked to provide face-to-face contact to face-to-face support to supplement the remote education of year 10 and year 12 pupils.
The work being set by teachers, via Teams, will remain the predominant mode of education during this term for pupils in these year groups.
Will pupils be safe in school?
We are in the process of completing very detailed risk assessments and operating procedures for the site so that we adhere to government guidance and ensure all pupils and staff are as safe as possible.
This will mean strict rules about the arrival to and departure from school, the use of classrooms, movement around the school and behaviour at break and lunch times. Pupils who do not follow these rules will not be permitted on site.
What does this mean for my daughter?
We will be in touch shortly with detailed information about when your daughter should return to school, what lessons they will have and the rules and procedures they will need to follow.
